Tonight is the night
Tonight is the night that I get to start the 2nd book in the Frankenstein series by Koontz. I am excited. The second book is Frankenstein: City of Night.
Tonight
Tonight before starting my book I have been posting old books I have read on Shelfari. I love that site. I have been sitting on my floor in the study and going through my old books and remembering what they meant in my life. It seems so odd that books would have book markers in your life... but they do mine. I remember the moments I cuddled with my children reading them different books, or when I just needed to leave my head for a while and visit somewhere else.

The Lace Reader
I have posted on the Lace Reader before but I am trying to rethink the book. It is this month's book for the book club.... search my mind and hope it comes back or reread? A little of both I think.

Frankenstein: Prodigal Son
Ah.... Koontz was a master with the Frankenstein series. I have only read the first one but I am in love. The prodigal son shows the existence of the master creator of unhumans while not having full control over their existence and not understanding how he messes up. The first book has many characters I think we will see again as the series continues. The main character is a detective who believes the disfigured monster and persues Victor, AKA Frankenstein.

Witch and Wizard: The Gift
Oh No... there is another one. The Gift ended in a way that there is another one coming. I liked the first two but I am not sure I liked them enough to read another. However, I will have to because of the way Patterson ended this one.

Forged by Fire
Sharon Draper did a really good job with Forged by Fire. The first chapter grabs you and does not let you go throughout the whole text. IN the first chapter, the abuse of the child sets you up to understand what will happen in the rest of the book.
Face on a Milk Carton
Years ago, I read Face On a Milk Carton. It was fabulous. For years I recommended it to young readers as an avenue to reach them. It was so original. I have not seen any new books by Cooney in years. I wonder what happened to her.

Witch and Wizard
Witch and Wizard by James Patterson was somewhat of a let down. I wanted a little more action. it was a good, quick read but it was lacking a little excitement. The brother and sister team eook down the forces of evil in a matter of days. pretty amazing for teens who turned out to have special powers they were unaware of.

Swallow the Ocean
Today the book was Swallow the Ocean. Another memoir but not as memorable as yesterdays. It is a good story but told in a way that easily allows your interest to wonder.

The Glass Castle
I finished a memoir last weekend, The Glass CAstle by Jeannette Walls. I may be in love with Memoirs for a while. The young lady who lived this life, the author, conquered the world by surviving her childhood with her siblings and coming through the event a hero.
Her parents were self absorbed and forgot to even get food for the children to eat. The searched garbage cans and dumpsters for food while their mother painted and the father drank and gambled.
It was a moving rendition I hated to complete.
