More flowers....

One of my bird baths seems to be totally dry today. Poor little birds. They are searching. Ricki made me a beautiful watering can lamp one year for a lightening project for a class. Each year since birds are born in the top watering can. This year one of the little birds (the last) was trapped in the back porch. As we helped it out into the world, it flew straight into the pool. We retrieved it from the pool and it flew in it again. Chlorine and birds do not mix. We finally perched the little stinker on a branch and then we eventually had to place it back in the nest and let it try again the next day to be free in the yard.

Always

Always in a dollar book I picked up off the shelf from the sidewalk at Books-A Million. Sometimes that shelf explodes with good words and others it is really hard to find a thing. I bought Always a couple of months ago and it is my pool book this week. It is odd. At first I thought the main character was a man, then I realized she was a woman, and now I know she is a lesbian. I think this may be the first book I have ever read where the main character was a lesbian. It is different but I am not giving up on it. It has been too wet with puppys shaking on it and my splashing on it to give up now. it is lucky it was only a dollar or I would have not been pleased with the outcome.

Book club

Tonight at book club was fabulous as usual. We had good food, good friends, and good talk. We have decided to switch for a while to summer reading. We have been on adolescent lit for about 7 months and now we are switching to hot summer ladies reading. It should be a different twist. We are reading Dark Lover for next week. This should be different.
