The Lightening Thief

This quick read is a small dose of Harry Potter. It seems too similar to me. Maybe I just have not gotten very far but the cabin divisions, the eating hall, the hunt of the main character.... "The One" all too similar for me not to compare the books throughout the read.

Today I began The Nineteenth Wife

The 19th Wife is about the "Firsts" This cult interests me with the slavery type life of the wives living with their polygamist husbands. The cult moved away from the Mormon church when the church left polygamy behind.

Between teh Tides by Henry

Last night I finished my latest read, Between the Tides. I think this title had more symbolism than any title I have red in modern day literature. The character spoke volumes with out even speaking. Three probing questions surround the heroin. She is caught between her past and her future and until the questions are answered she cannot move on. The book is an easy read but fascinating.

Teen Book CLub

MY new book club started on Tuesday night. It was fabulous. Two friends and one of my daughters broke into the book with me. We explored the Huger Games this week. I am sure the author had not one plan in her head the depth her book would hold in our hands. We compared and pulled things as far back as Shakespeare.

One of our group has cancer and he was the most enlightening of us all. We explored the characters and only up through chapter 7 on our first night. One of our members needed to finish the book before we continued. We plan to meet again in two weeks and finish this book and begin our next. Next time I think I shall write in my journal our thoughts so when I get home my blog will be a clearer picture and my thoughts can wrap around what we discuss.
