Books and the passage away from thoughts

Books are definitely my friends. That sounds so weird but they have taken me on many a journey when I needed to escape my life for a while.

Cold Fire

Koontz threw me a curve with this novel. Jim Ironheart was a character who at first I admired and thought moved with a devotion to others and to God. Come to find out he moved simply because he had built walls around his pain and cast off all memories that were accurate to build a life of his own through created memories.

Good books, good friends equal good times

Dinner was a treat with getto lasagna, tossed salad, garlic bread, brownies, chocolate pis, and love pops. Pictured are the love pops. Our book this month was The Lace Reader. I think everyone enjoyed this one we even found meanings in the book which the writer might not have intended. Before our book talk, we exchanged valentines. I love all my surprises. I love surprises.

Koontz

Currently, I am reading two books by Koontz. I am reading the third book in the Frankenstein series and I am also reading Cold Fire. They are so totally different yet Koontz makes each a special voyage one wants to take through the words hoping to arrive on the other side with more insight. A pleasurable trip...

Frankenstein: City of Night by Dean Koontz

Wow.. this series in awesome. The second book, City of Night, is even better than the first in the series. The creativity that comes from Koontz amazes me. Where is his mind in order to think of these things? Frankenstein to begin with ... I would never have thought of allowing him to continue to live today and exploring his further creations. The second book leaves me with as many questions as answers.... Now can I wait until tomorrow to start the next book? I think not!
